"I can't shorten my name like J Lo,
I'm Alex House, Id be A Ho!"

Alex House was destined to be a comedian. She was born and raised on Long Island, fertile soil for comedians of the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O'Donnell & Lenny Bruce. In addition, growing up without a TV forced her and her brother to entertain themselves by mimicking skits from Johnny Carson, The Carol Burnett Show and Saturday Night Live, that they had seen while sleeping over friend's house's.

By age 16, Alex had mastered the fife, French horn and being funny. She almost got kicked out of her 7th grade Halloween dance for coming dressed as "Buckwheat" from the SNL skits with Eddie Murphy who was her comedic influence at the time. "It never crossed my mind that I was being politically incorrect, they didn't even have that term at that time! I was just a 7th grader who wanted to be Eddie Murphy. It was my way of paying tribute to a man who made me laugh until I peed! I knew all of his comedy albums inside and out and would edit the cursing out of them so my mom could listen to him!"

She attended Kutztown University where she pursued a degree in Art Education so she could finger paint and color instead of writing thesis papers. "People were always surprised to find out I was an Art major, they said I didn't look like one. What does that mean? Must I cut off an ear for anyone to take me seriously?" While working as a Resident Assistant and Orientation Staff Member, she was dared to get up at a college coffee house and try stand-up. She's been hooked ever since!

Fast forward to the present: Alex is a two time winner in the Bud Light's Ladies Of Laughter Comedy Contest, has participated in the Toyota Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival and the Arizona Women's Funny Fest. She has also been on ABC's "The View" twice in the course of two weeks and was one of the East Coast Semi-finalists chosen out of thousands of comics on NBC's "Last Comic Standing". When she's not performing comedy, she studies acting with coach JoAnna Beckson whose past students include Ray Ramano, Dave Chappelle and Brett Butler.
